Prologue

Pearl is a hard object produced within the soft tissue of a living clam. The ideal pearl is perfectly round and smooth, but many other shapes of pearls (e.g baroque pearls) occur. The finest quality natural pearls have been highly valued as gemstones and objects of beauty for many centuries, and because of this, the word pearl has become a metaphor for something very rare, fine, admirable, and valuable. Pearl is valued based on five attributes: Size, Shape, Complexion, Colour, and Lustre.

Being recognized as one of the largest producers of south sea pearl in the world, Indonesia has the perfect oceanic habitat for the Pinctada maxima oysters which produce pearls with color ranges from white, silver, yellow, and gold. Incorporating the south sea pearls with the luxurious design of jewelries, DEPEARL is regaining the people’s admiration towards the authentic oceanic treasure of Indonesia.

DEPEARL has strong relationship and vast networks amongst the local farmers of south sea pearls in Indonesia. The partnerships make it possible for DEPEARL to have continuous supply from producers across the nation.

Procurements team would liaise with the local farmers and make the order and purchase of the south sea pearls. Purchased bags of pearls would then be handed to DEPEARL pearls scientists who would treat the delicate pearls, sort, and set the unit price for the pearls. DEPEARL jewelry designers on the other side would uniquely design the mountings of rings, pendants, earrings, studs, bracelets, and necklaces.

The exclusive design of DEPEARL products would only come in a few limited numbers in each season to ensure distinctiveness we promise to our group of customers.
